3 Day Classical Figure Sculpture, Drawing and Painting
May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 9am – 4pm
Join us for a very special workshop with a very new twist. We are offering two workshops working along side each other. Beginning – Advanced Sculpture, Drawing and Painting.
This provides a unique opportunity to work along side artists of other mediums and share in the energy of everyone working together on their own projects.
Experienced students will focus on quality of their transitions from one stage to the next. All students will learn to achieve more clarity of understanding concerning structure and rhythms throughout the body. All students will learn at any level to work from nature with increased awareness for accurate proportions, gesture, and edges.
The pencil drawing intensive with Mathew Riggs will be an exciting workshop for students of all levels to confront their strategies around the figure. The size of the drawings will be about 10-12 inches to acquaint any new students to the Sight Size Method, beginning oil painting instruction as well as much more.
Students will use the drawing to create an oil painting of the figure.
The sculpture students will work according to level of experience. Beginning students will work with Lisa Silas sculpt the pear, intermediate students will work on the skull while advances students will work on sculpting the figure. The fee is $450.00 for 3 days.
Classical Figure Drawing And Painting – 5 or 10 Days
Session I: July 6 – 10, 9am – 4pm
Session II: July 13 – 17, 9am – 4pm
Learn master techniques with Matthew Riggs and Lisa Silas of the Neoteric Renaissance School of Arts.
Instruction will focus on the Sight Size method for drawing the figure. This approach has empowered artist to calculate proportion and gesture from the Renaissance, through the 19th-Century, to the contemporary moment, including Leonardo Di Vinci, John Sargent, Joaquín Sorolla, Anders Zorn, Thomas Gainsborough, and Thomas Eakins.
